Unfinished cabinets have the same quality construction that you expect from a Cabinets.com cabinet, but they have not been stained, painted, or otherwise finished. They are popular among those who want to personalize the color and look of their cabinets by applying their own unique finish.
All unfinished cabinets will arrive pre-sanded, and prepped for finishing. However, additional surface preparation may be needed/desired based on the finish application and/or the discretion of the finisher. Please consult the finishing product manufacturer (paint, stain, etc.) for how to best prepare for finishing.
Unfinished cabinets will still go through the normal production schedule. For information on current delivery timeframes, please see our Shipping page.
Our face frame and frameless cabinets are made from maple or cherry wood and furniture grade plywood. Some door styles utilize a Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) center panel. This has become an industry standard because MDF center panels are more resistant to changes in temperature and humidity. The euro frameless cabinets feature high tech acrylics laminated to either .75" white pine particleboard or .75" plywood.
Please see our Cabinet Collections Comparative Chart for more info on the construction and features included in each collection.
